The recent murder of two young policewomen poses, I think, three questions.
1. Should the police be routinely armed? In my opinion, the answer is no. It wouldn't prevented that murder, also the police will become targeted by gangsters eager to get firearms. Dedicated firearms officers are OK, but not the bobby on a beat. The police themselves are not very keen to be armed.

2. Should policewomen be allowed to patrol on their own without male escort? I think not. It is crazy to send two unarmed girls to investigate something that could become a very nasty accident. There should be mixed sex patrols.

3. The capital panishment. I think that the murder of a police officer should trigger a mandatory death sentence. As Lord Tebbit said "the shadow of the gallows is a very good deterrent". Unfortunately, our unelected masters from  Brussels wouldn't allow it. One more argument in favour of getting out of EUSSR.
