The citation from the Russian sci-fi long short story.

Today all Russian dailies cite the Telegraph about “the Russian supertank Armata.” Yes, the same supertank that famously got stalled at the Red Square during the parade rehearsal. They are full of pride. But let’s look behind the scene. What that means?
Firstly, it means that our MI6 aka Secret Intelligence Service got hold of Russian design documents. Deepest condolences to the Russian KGB/FSB or whatever the Russian security service is called (the Russians have the weird custom of renaming their security services every five or ten years). However, they perfectly know that the design parameters and the real performance of Russian hardware are quite different things.
Secondly, they prepared the report aiming to scare the living daylights off our MPs and make them to cough up some dough for a new tank building programme. Cameron, Clegg an Osborne had cut defence spending to the bone, so it’s high time to beef it up a bit.
It is also very useful to make our European tight-fisted allies to spend more on defence and not on refugees.
Thirdly, they leaked the most saucy bits from this report to friendly hacks at the Telegraph.
Thus, everyone is happy. Ruskies are happy because ”the British Army is scared stiff of their new supertank”. The British themselves wrote about this.
Our generals are happy because now they have something with which they can press MPs for more money.
The Telegraph hacks are happy, the have their scoop.
The only unhappy people are the poor sods from the Russian counter-intelligence services. But who cares?
