I have seen the “Lost Gardens of Heligan”; I did a little search for “No Man’s Orchard”.
To my surprise, there are several of them. Do I understand right that this is done to put a buffer between adjacent landowners?

It happens when the land is spread between two different parishes. In our case the land is owned by Chartham and Harbledown parish Councils.
